REASSIGNMENT OF BNR BUS ROUTES 120, 121, 122 and T121 FOR JALAN IPOH CORRIDOR

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 MARCH 2016 – As part of the ongoing efforts to improve and stabilise the bus services under the Bus Network Revamp (BNR), SPAD will reassign routes 120, 121, 122 and T121 for Jalan Ipoh corridor to raise service level for commuters in the affected areas.

This reassignment exercise comes after SPADs assessment of the current bus operator, Setara Jaya who is serving the said routes as well as feedback from the public who have complained about long wait time as well as overcrowded buses. Under this move, the routes will be assigned Causeway Link , which is under Handal Ceria Sdn. Bhd.

The reassignment will involve the following routes:

  1. Route 120 (Jinjang Utara- HAB Medan Pasar): The operational hours is from 5.30a.m. until 11.00p.m. with a frequency of 10 minutes during morning and evening peak hours, effective 15 March, 2016.
  2. Route 121 (Taman Sri Sinar - HAB Medan Pasar): The operational hours is from 5.30a.m. until 11.00p.m. with a frequency of 20 minutes during morning and evening peak hours, effective 15 March, 2016.
  3. Route 122 (Taman Ehsan - HAB Medan Pasar): This route was reassigned to Causeway Link on 19 February, 2016. The operational hours is from 5.30a.m. till 11.00p.m. with a frequency of 20 minutes during morning and evening peak hours. 
  4. Route T121 (Metro Prima – Bandar Baru Selayang): This route is still not in operation but would be reassigned to Causeway Link effective 22nd March, 2016. Announcement on the operational hours and bus frequency would be announced on a later date.

SPAD would like to assure the public that various proactive measures is being taken to resolve all operational issues under the Bus Network Revamp (BNR) initiative in a timely manner. SPAD is also monitoring all bus operators through the Global Positioning System (GPS) as well as deploying officers on the ground to ensure that bus services are at its optimum level.
