Move to smoothen traffic flow in city centre

22 December, 2017, Kuala Lumpur - Effective this Saturday (23, December), the Medan Pasar City End Stop (‘Hentian Akhir Bandar’ or HAB) will be re-designated to become a bus stop. This means buses stopping at Medan Pasar are no longer allowed to wait or park, instead they can only pick up or drop off passengers. The move is to allow for better traffic flow at Medan Pasar (near HSBC), which is well known for congestion problems during peak hours, a condition partly contributed by waiting buses. The Lebuh Pudu HAB also provides better facilities and shelter.

The relocation will affect 50 buses operated by Selangor Omnibus Co Bhd and Setara Jaya Sdn Bhd. The affected Selangor Omnibus route numbers are 100, 103, 104, 107, 120, 121 & 122, while for Setara Jaya the route numbers are 151 and 152. The above-mentioned buses will end their trips at the Lebuh Pudu HAB which is in front of the Mydin Emporium Sinar Kota, located 350 metres away from the current Medan Pasar HAB.

Information for passengers have been made available inside the buses, as well as at the Medan Pasar and Lebuh Pudu HAB for the past week. To assist passengers, staff from Selangor Omnibus, Setara Jaya, and the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) will be on duty at two HABs to monitor the transition beginning this Saturday, 23 December 2017.

With this relocation, there will be three HABs within the Kuala Lumpur city centre: the Munshi Abdullah HAB serving the Ampang corridor, the Pasar Seni HAB serving the Federal Highway and Old Klang Road corridors, and the Lebuh Pudu HAB, which now incorporates buses serving the Cheras, Sungai Besi, Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Pahang corridors. The Lebuh Pudu HAB is currently used by operators such as Nadi Putra, Seri Indah and RapidKL.

For more information commuters may inquire via the SPAD hotline at 1-800-88-7723 (SPAD) or via or Twitter at @SPADchannel or our website: or alternatively call Selangor Omnibus at 03-6258 1579 or Setara Jaya at 03-4021 7692.
