SPAD INVESTIGATING DANGEROUS EXPRESS BUS DRIVING INCIDENT 

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 MARCH 2017 – Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) has commenced action following a video of a Darul Naim Express Sdn Bhd express bus being driven dangerously along the Karak Highway on Sunday, 19 March 2017. The Commission is investigating the case for violations under the Land Public Transport Act 2010 (APAD 2010). 

Since the incident, SPAD has carried out the following: 

1. Upon receiving the complaint on Sunday, 19 March 2017, on the same evening, SPAD’s Enforcement team traced the driver, recorded his statement and suspended the vehicle permit to facilitate investigations 

2. Subsequently, SPAD recorded a statement from the Darul Naim Express bus operator on 21 March 2017 

Based on the outcome of the ongoing investigation, SPAD will pursue action under the APAD 2010 for those found guilty of breaking the law. 

SPAD will coordinate with JPJ to ensure necessary action is taken against the driver for dangerous driving and placing the lives of bus passengers and other road users at risk.
